Charity International Inc distributes survival kits to families in need.
Both the National Hurricane Center and the American Red Cross have developed specific guidelines for Hurricane supply kits. It includes provisions to carry you through a week or two after a storm. Charity International Inc. hurricane preparation includes additional recommendations based on experiences of real people who have been through hurricanes. A Hurricane Supply Center is necessary because a disaster can happen without warning giving us no time to gather the supplies we may need in order to survive. It's important to prepare in advance. We've found that most families do not prepare adequately for a hurricane, which makes this Hurricane Supply Center even more vital. The Hurricane Season starts on June 1 and US Meteorologists say they expect an above average number of hurricanes this year in the Atlantic basin area.
Contents of Hurricane Survival Kits Distributed By Charity International Include:
Water, Food (non-perishable packaged or canned food/juices), Blankets, Pillows, First Aid Kits, Soap, Toiletries, Special Items for Infants & the Elderly, etc.
"Thank you Charity International for partnering with United Way to create a lasting impact in the lives of Hurricane Sandy survivors. The generous contribution will be used by local United Ways along the eastern seaboard to address the near and long-term recovery needs of communities that FEMA has declared disaster areas. Support from Charity International will help individuals and families rebuild their lives by connecting them to financial benefits, providing access to mental health and trauma-related services, as well as addressing their ongoing basic needs, such as food and utilities assistance."
